All you need to know about the inaugural Spin & Go Championship taking place at EPT Prague in December.

PokerStars has announced an exciting new addition to the European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague stop – the first of its kind.

A live Spin & Go Championship will see 81 players – comprised of 74 PokerStars Spin & Go qualifiers and seven special guests – do battle in the three-handed event, which boasts €100,000 in prizes.

The inaugural event takes place at the Prague Hilton from December 14-15, but it’s for invitees only.

HOW TO QUALIFY FOR THE SPIN & GO CHAMPIONSHIP

A series of leaderboard competitions on PokerStars will award 33 places to pokerstars.com qualifiers, with 24 spots reserved for qualifiers from Southern Europe qualifiers and a final 17 spots set aside for Spin & Go qualifiers in Italy.

The remaining seven Spin & Go Championship participants will be announced at a later date, but we can tell you they will include celebrities, influencers and special guests, making this unique event all the more exciting.

Qualify and you’ll win a special trip to EPT Prague and compete for a share of €100K

Each online qualifier will win a €2,735 package enabling them to compete in the event, and each package will include:

• €1,430 Spin & Go Championship buy-in
• Hotel stay for two nights
• €500 in expenses

Simply opt-in via your Challenges Window and then collect leaderboard points for every Spin & Go tourney that you win at a $5 buy-in level or higher.

There are three leaderboard periods (October 7-20, October 21-November 3, November 4-17) and at the end of each, the top two players will get their hands on an awesome package to play in Prague.

But there’s more. Finish in the remainder of the top 50 during a leaderboard period and you’ll get a ticket to play a Spin & Go Live Championship Freeroll, where three more packages will be up for grabs.

HOW THE LIVE EVENT WORKS

A total of €100,000 in prize money is on offer at the Spin & Go Championship, split between fixed final table prizes, random prizes distributed via mystery envelopes throughout the event, and prizes based on a ranking system.

There’s a first-place prize of €25,000 up for grabs, with €15,000 going to the overall runner-up and €10,000 awarded to third place.

Beginning with 81 players, the entire tournament follows the popular knockout Spin & Go format that sees players compete three-handed for mystery prizes until only one is left standing.

With mystery prizes coming into play in Round 2, here are the details of each four-game round:

Round 1: 81 players across 27 tables. Four wins are required to reach Round 2

Round 2: 27 players across nine tables. Five wins are required to reach Round 3; €30,000 in random mystery envelope prizes between €2,000 and €10,000

Round 3: Nine players across three tables. Five wins are required to reach the Final Round; €7,300 in prizes according to ranking and €17,000 in random mystery envelope prizes

Final Round: Three players across one table. €25,000 for first; €15,000 for second; €10,000 for third.
