How to use MyStack at live events

This article is about MyStack. After reading it you’ll understand what it is, how to set up an account, and how to use it at PokerStars live events.
As poker players, we’ve all got at least one text chat… scratch that, we’ve all got at least five text chats in which the vast majority of messages sent look something like this:
“Got 125K at 300/600.”
Or this:
“Just lost 150bb chip lead pot. Fish sucked out.”
Even this:
“Got 20 bigs, about to go on dinner break. Can I give you my McDonalds order?”
If you don’t have chats like that, it’s probably because your poker-playing friends are using MyStack and you can easily find their up-to-date chip counts on PokerNews.

CHIP COUNTS AT LIVE EVENTS (THE WHAT AND HOW)

The way that chip counts and eliminations are noted and updated during a live event is all down to the live reporting of hands. For example, if a hand is reported in which Lex Veldhuis loses a pot to Parker Talbot, Veldhuis’ stack will automatically update on the chip counts page and he’ll move down the counts, while Talbot’s stack will move up. Had Veldhuis busted in the reported hand, his stack would drop to zero and we can see he’s been eliminated.
Given the size and scale of some events, however, it’s not always possible for PokerNews reporters to maintain up-to-date stack sizes for all players. Take the always enormous EPT Barcelona Main Event, for example – with hundreds if not thousands of players shuffling chips, scooping pots and bellowing bad beat stories simultaneously, it would take a huge team to capture and update everything.
This is where MyStack comes in.
MYSTACK PUTS PLAYERS IN CONTROL
MyStack is a function of the PokerNews website that connects you directly to the PokerNews live reporting feed, allowing you to update your own chip counts.
It’s completely free to use and means your friends and family at home or at the event can follow your progress in real time, rather than requiring a PokerNews reporter to be on the sidelines.
HOW MYSTACK WORKS
Getting set up on MyStack is incredibly simple, with no downloads required. It’s also super easy to use while at a PokerStars live event.
Here’s how it works:
GET STARTED
On your mobile phone, click the “Menu” button on PokerNews to find the login icon and access the profile section.
CREATE A MYSTACK PROFILE
After logging in, complete the required fields with your name and country.
SELECT EVENT
Select the event you’re currently playing in by choosing the live event from the dropdown menu.
MYSTACK BUBBLE
Once you’re logged in, use the MyStack icon to easily update your chips when needed. Good luck at the tables.
CHIP COUNTS
Go to the chip counts tab or MyStack tab in your poker event to see the trend in your chip stack.
