ABOUT EPT PRAGUE 2023

December’s festivities make it the most wonderful time of the year, but the weeks leading up to the holidays are pretty great too. And there’s nowhere that poker players from around the world would rather spend their time than in Prague for the European Poker Tour (EPT).

It might be chilly outside, but EPT Prague 2023 has plenty of poker action to heat things up inside the Hilton Prague at the King’s Casino. The festival begins with the EUREKA Poker Tour – always massive for a €1,100 buy-in – before moving up in stakes to the EPT line-up.

Plus, when you’re not at the tables, you get to wrap up warm and explore one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. From the market stalls and Christmas trees at the Old Town Square to the bustling Charles Bridge, the stunning Prague Castle to your pick of incredible (and affordable) restaurants, Prague is one of those places you’ll want to return to again and again.

Poker players certainly do, and that’s why the EPT comes back here year after year, always bigger and better.

Want to join us this year? Then get these dates in your diaries now: December 6-17, 2023

Whether you’re a casual player who has never played a live event, or a seasoned pro hoping to book your trip for cheap, PokerStars players can win their way to EPT Prague through the Power Path – an exciting new way to qualify online for next to nothing.

It could be you who follows in the footsteps of previous Prague winners like Hossein Ensan, Martin Finger, Kalidou Sow, and Roberto Romanello.

MINI EPT PRAGUE ONLINE SERIES

With EPT Prague currently underway, many of those who won packages and seats are either already in the Czech capital or they’re packing more eagerly than they’ve ever packed before.

But don’t worry if you won’t be making the trip to the EPT this time around. There’s still a way you can get a feel for the EPT experience from the comfort of your own home.

A Mini EPT Prague online festival has been announced to run alongside the action at the Prague Hilton, meaning you can play while you watch the live stream on Twitch or YouTube.

The series runs from Tuesday, December 12 through to Sunday, December 17, with 18 tournaments over six days and buy-ins starting at just $1.10.

There’s a ridiculous amount of added value added to the Mini EPT Prague events, too.

$40K IN ADDED VALUE

To ensure the Mini EPT Prague series is a can’t-miss series, PokerStars is adding $40K in added-value tournament tickets to the prize pools.

The $5.50 and $55 Mini Main Events on December 17 will each award a Gold Power Pass worth $10,300 to the winner, which can be used at any future EPT stop for a full EPT experience.

Plus, there are also six added value Silver Power Passes worth $2,500 each up for grabs.

Both Mini Main Events begin on Sunday, December 17.

$5.50 Mini EPT Prague Main Event (Low edition – $50K Gtd) – 12:15 ET (17:15 WET)
$55 Mini EPT Prague Main Event (High edition – $125K Gtd) – 14:15 ET (19:15 WET)

ACTIVITIES GUIDE

Your focus might be on the tables when at EPT Prague 2023, but rest assured, there will be plenty to keep you entertained on any days off, not to mention the guests who will be joining you.

Prague is a city like no other, and this is a poker event that remains among the most popular of the year. You can take advantage of the incredible winter delights Prague has to offer, and complement your trip with these activities, all of which are free.

This year’s agenda includes ice curling, a river cruise and, of course, the Player’s Party.

Take a look at the full list of EPT Prague activities here.

POKER IN THE EARS PRAGUE PODCAST

In their final episode of 2023, James and Joe look ahead to the last European Poker Tour event of the year: #EPTPrague.

They run through the live streaming schedule (six days of coverage on the PokerStars Twitch and YouTube channels) and catch up with 2016 Main Event champion Jasper Meijer van Putten. The second guest of the week is mindset coach Elliot Roe, who discusses his new book ‘A-Game Poker’.

Plus, Joe talks about being auctioned off at a charity tournament, and Ed Nice from the UK hopes to be rewarded for watching the terrible movie ‘Champagne and Bullets’ as he takes part in ‘Superfan vs Stapes’.

EVENT AND TRAVEL GUIDE

Prague is a popular stop on the EPT circuit, with hectic tournament action and a wide variety of cash games, complemented by a beautiful city packed with bars and restaurants that never break the bank.

Here is the complete guide to the event including a look back at some landmark moments, and everything you need to know at or away from the tables.

NO MORE PRAGUE SQUEAK!

Anyone who had ever played at EPT Prague prior to last year would have endured the dreaded Prague squeak. The chairs used to grind against the tournament floor, producing a grating screech, like nails on a chalkboard.

But not anymore! In 2022, that issue was taken care of with help from Steve O’Dwyer, who was on a crusade to end it.

And end it he did.
