The nights are drawing in in the Northern Hemisphere, and that means only one thing: the European Poker Tour (EPT) will soon be heading for Prague. The annual visit of the world’s leading poker tour to the Czech Republic is imminent, so it’s time now to take a look at some of the off-the-felt EPT Prague activities, available to all players.

Prague is a city like no other, and this is a poker event that remains among the most popular of the year. You can of course take advantage of the incredibly winter delights Prague has to offer, and complement your trip with these activities, all of which are free.

EPT PRAGUE ACTIVITIES

ICE CURLING

Sunday, December 10 — 3pm-7pm
Thursday, December 14 – 12.30pm-4.30pm
40 players plus team captains per day

Prague will almost certainly be covered in frost and snow when the EPT arrives in December, but if you want to test your skills in one of the most fun winter sports, you need to sign up for the grand curling match.

Skates, stones (and brooms) are provided — as well as unique jackets and beanie hats to all players — as you can join the Team PokerStars Ambassadors on the ice. This is the first time almost everyone will have ever tried the sport, so it’ll be a brilliant chance to try something completely new.

Transport from the tournament venue to the ice rink is provided. In the meantime, brush up on your curling knowledge.

LUNCH RIVER CRUISE

Saturday, December 9 – 12.30pm-3pm
Friday, December 15 – 11.30am-2pm

Prague sits either side of the broad Vltava River, with the city’s magnificent monuments scattered high and low around this life-giving waterway. A trip along the river offers one of the very best ways to explore the city, and gives a unique perspective of Prague’s many beautiful bridges, including the renowned Charles Bridge, the de facto centre.

Lunch is provided, as is transport to the start point of a two-hour cruise.

CITY BUS TOUR

Daily

There’s so much to see in Prague that you can visit every year for more than a decade and still not get close to knowing everything there is to know. One of the very best ways to tick off the main attractions is through a city bus tour, which provides a hop-on, hop-off services and takes you all around the city.

PARTIES AND LOUNGES

The EPT is notorious for its player parties, and Prague always throws one of the very best. This year, there’s also an exclusive Player Lounge where you can put your feet up, enjoy some light snacks, and unwind away from the poker tables.

PLAYER PARTY

Monday, December 11 – 7pm-10:30pm (Hotel Lobby)
10.30pm-2am (Skybar)

The PokerStars Player’s Party this year starts off in the lobby of the Hilton, where you can find music, snacks and drink from 7pm until 10.30pm. This incorporates the Main Event dinner break (as well as breaks in most other tournaments under way), and so permits players the chance to make the most of the hospitality before returning to play.

From 10.30pm, the party moves upstairs to the Cloud 9 Skybar, peering out across the city skyline from 40 metres in the sky. Drinks are free until midnight — and the DJ will play on until 2am. It’s a great place to let your hair down and enjoy some delicious cocktails.

PLAYER LOUNGE

Daily — 2pm-2am

Looking to relax away from the tables? No problem. Head to the Players Lounge, open every day from 2pm-2am, where you’ll find drinks and snacks as well as a Shisha lounge. It’s the perfect place to unwind between tournaments or in breaks and make the most of some of the hospitality on offer. Afternoon tea is served from 3pm-6pm.
