Two Germans — SonnyRamone and herosnappinG — were pitted against each other to determine the winner in TCOOP Event #18. Both were seeking their first COOP championship, but neither were a stranger to a COOP final table. herosnappinG came close twice with second-place finishes in the 2014 TCOOP and 2013 WCOOP, while SonnyRamone went deep at the 2009 WCOOP (ninth place) and 2011 WCOOP (fourth place). Both players advanced to two previous COOP final tables, but neither could break through to the winner’s circle… until now. When the dust settled, SonnyRamone was the lone player left standing in Event #18 to become the newest TCOOP champion.
TCOOP Event #18 $82 PLO 6-max Progressive Super-Knockout attracted 3,199 runners. They created a total prize pool worth $239,925.00 with half of the pool $119,962.50 funneled into the prize pool and the other half goes toward the bounty pool. Only the top 420 players were paid out with $18,896.68 originally set aside to the champion.
Want to talk about fast? Turbo short-handed PLO meant that two-thirds of the field was liquidated in approximately 80 minutes… or only five minutes after late registration closed. The money bubbled popped in under two hours. With 30 runners remaining, Champion133 was one of the first players to pass the 1M chip mark. With two tables to go, herosnappinG held the lead with 3.5M, but was jockeying for first with Champion133 and SonnyRamone. With seven to go and action hand-for-hand, Steph Bushey bubbled off the final table in seventh place. Steph Bushey flopped the Wheel with A♣ Qâ™ 8♥ 5♣ , but SonnyRamone rivered a seven-high straight with Kâ™ 7♥ 5â™ 3♥ to win the pot and advance to the final table.

The final table commenced during Level 43 with blinds at 80K/160K. SonnyRamone was the leader with 4.08M, but herosnappinG was right behind with 4M. The shortest stack belonged to AlbertoC with 913K. The biggest bounty belonged to herosnappinG with a $3,269.64 bonus looming overhead.
TEENAGE LOBOTOMY: Mumtum23 eliminated in 6th place
Four hands. That’s how long it took before we saw our first bustout. herosnappinG min-raised to 320,000, Mumtum23 potted to 1.12M, and herosnappinG called. The flop was Kâ™ 6♥ 2â™ . Mumtum23 moved all-in for 872,028 and herosnappinG called.

herosnappinG: A♦ K♦ Qâ™ 9â™
herosnappinG was ahead with top pair, top kicker and a flush draw. The turn was the Q♦ and the river was the 5♦ . herosnappinG won the pot with two pair — Kings and Queens. Mumtum23 became the first player to exit the final table. Sixth place paid out $2,129.33. herosnappinG collected a bounty worth $482.19 and their own bounty was bumped up to $3,751.82.
SHEENA IS A PUNK ROCKER: AlbertoC eliminated in 5th place
SonnyRamone min-raised to 500,000 and AlbertoC called. The action-inducing flop was Q♥ J♠5♣ . AlbertoC check-raised all-in for approximately 1.9M and SonnyRamone insta-called with two two pair.

The 2♦ fell on the turn and the river was the 2♣ . Neither card helped AlbertoC. SonnyRamone won the pot with a better two pair — Queens and Jacks versus fives and deuces. For a fifth-place finish, AlbertoC earned $4,177.09. SonnyRamone collected a bounty worth $395.63 and Sonny’s own bounty was bumped up to $2,336.95.
DEAL
With four remaining, action was paused to discuss a money chop. At that juncture, herosnappinG was the leader with 5.4M, followed by SonnyRamone (5.2M), tupakkayska (3M), and Champion133 (2.3M). They had to leave $2,500 on the table to the eventual winner, but they agreed to a chip chop deal as follows: herosnappinG ($13,539.11), SonnyRamone ($13,256.39), tupakkayska ($10,503.93), and Champion133 ($9,507.73). With all parties satisfied, play resumed.
CRETIN HOP: tupakkayska eliminated in 4th place
Champion133 opened to 875,000, SonnyRamone potted to 2,875,000, tupakkayska called all-in for 2,196,158, and Champion13 also called all-in for 924,725.

Champion133 was ahead with Aces, which somehow held up in a three-way pot. The board finished up K♦ 9♠2♠6♣ J♠and no one held any spades, so Champion133 won the main pot and avoided an elimination. SonnyRamone won the side pot with a pair of Kings. Meanwhile, tupakkayska failed to improve upon a pair of sevens and busted out in fourth place, which paid out $10,503.93.
SonnyRamone took out tupakkayska and earned a bounty worth $1,065.23, meanwhile Sonny’s own bounty increased to $3,402.17
WE’RE A HAPPY FAMILY: Champion133 eliminated in 3rd place
SonnyRamone’s K♥ Q♦ 10♦ 9â™ crippled Champion133’s A♣ J♦ 8♣ 4♦ after rivering a King-high straight to win a decisive 10.7M pot. Champion133 was left with only 124,875 and busted on the next hand. Champion133 was all-in from the big blind in a three-way pot with 10â™ 9♥ 6♦ 2♦ . herosnappinG rivered trip fours with 9♣ 6♥ 4♦ 3♥ to win the main pot and side pot. For a third-place finish, Champion133 took home $9,507.73. For knocking out Champion133, herosnappinG earned a bounty worth $784.07 and their own bounty was increased to $4,535.89.

A pair of Germans were battling for the title and SonnyRamone held a slight edge. Heads-up only lasted five hands. On the second hand, herosnappinG flopped a set of fours to win a 9.8M pot and take the lead. On the next hand, SonnyRamone got it all-in and doubled up to regain the lead. SonnyRamone snapped off herosnappinG’s Kâ™ K♣ 10♣ 7♣ and turned a Wheel to avoid an elimination and surge to over 12.3M. The inevitable showdown happened two hands later.

herosnappinG opened to 600,000, SonyRamone bumped it up to 1.8M, and herosnappinG called. The flop was 6♣ 6♠3♣ . SonnyRamone fired out 1,332,000, herosnappinG bombed it all-in for 5,562,728, and SonnyRamone called.

SonnyRamone flopped a full house. The turn was the 8♦ and the river was the 7♥ , but neither helped herosnappinG. SonnyRamone won the pot with a full boat — treys full of sixes. herosnappinG could only muster up two pair — nines and sixes — which was not good enough to avoid an elimination. SonnyRamone collected a bounty worth $2,267.95 for picking off herosnappinG. In addition, SonnyRamone got to keep their own bounty, which totaled $5,670.11.
For an impressive runner-up performance, herosnappinG won $13,539.11.
