Event #14-H Limit Omaha Hi/Lo took eight hours for just 28 players. Event #17-H Pot Limit Omaha 6-max, 98 runners and 13 and a half hours to crown adiprene1 the champ. The recently finished Event #30-H Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo with 180 players? Nearly 16 hours over two days for ozenc to claim the SCOOP championship watch. Tonight’s Event #33-H $2,100 buy-in No Limit Omaha Hi/Lo with ten minute levels left players normally used to long levels and plenty of time to pick up a premium hand, forced to find creative ways to stay alive. 75 players signed up for the madness of this $75,000.00 guaranteed event, doubling the prize pool to $150,000.00 for our final table of nine to divide up.
Nearly 20 players would fail to get past the 90 minute last registration mark, including DazzleO and Saage who just got done a few hours ago with the conclusion of Event #30-H’s second day final table. Other early finishers included Team PokerStars pro Lex Veldhuis and EDWARDHOPPER who topped the overnight SCOOP Player of the Series leaderboard.
By the second hourly break half the field was gone including Team PokerStars proNoah “Exclusive” Boeken (40th place), Mickey “mement_mori” Petersen (46th place), and caprioli (50th place) who has two SCOOP final tables this year in the same Event #16-L and Event #16-M.
Shortly after the second break James “Andy McLEOD” Obst failed to get kings past the low wrap hand of XRoXXoX and finished in 34th place. It was about the time that Obst took leave that the tournament sort of dissolved into a preflop shove fest that would claim two SCOOP 2011 champs Jonathan “Iftarii” Jaffe in 30th place and Event #10-H champ HN Kakaroto at 31st place in quick order.
Down to three tables in just two hours fifteen minutes Event #17-H runner up e1mdopp would succumb to the wave of eliminations in 24th place and as PlayWMyNuts quipped “bingo at its best now 🙂“. Alexey “Lucky Gump” Makarov was not able to grab a second SCOOP watch tonight finishing in 20th place as we condensed down to two tables at the two hour forty-five minute mark and Alexander “joiso” Kostritsyn was looking to take back the Player of the Series lead and finally get that SCOOP watch around his wrist while holding the chip lead with two tables remaining.
Not a fan of the brat pack
How could you not like Sixteen Candles or St. Elmo’s Fire? Well, Anders “Donald” Berg was just eliminated by bratpack1979 and Berg’s 10♥ J♣ 2â™ Aâ™ could not catch up to bratpack1979’s A♦ 5♦ K♦ 4♣ on the A♣ 9♣ 9â™ 5♥ K♥ board to end the Team Online team member’s night in 17th place, and probably not rushing off to download Breakfast Club.
ElkY hunted down
Right after Berg left the playing field, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier was shot down in 16th place after shoving preflop with A♥ K♦ 9♦ 9♥ and JaniOsmo called out of the blinds for a little less showing 10â™ Aâ™ 3â™ 10♥ . JaniOsmo would flop the nut low and the tens beat out the nines for the high on the 8â™ 2♥ 6♣ 6♦ Q♣ board as ElkY was left with just 994 chips. Those scraps were shipped to alexandapau the very next hand as the final table lurked closer. PanamaRespec found no respect as bratpack1979 took down the short stack in 12th place as two Player of the Series contenders joiso and two-time SCOOP champ cal42688 were still in the running with just two place left to the money and those all important Player of the Series points.
At the fourth hour break hand-for-hand play broke down for a five minute nap with Team PokerStars JP Kelly looking good in third place while josio (7th) and cal42688 (9th) holding on as the rapidly moving blinds would push to 1,250/2,500 ante 325 as the players returned. josio would shove from UTG and get called by tunnny for a little less. A♦ 7♥ 5♣ 4♦ for joiso, Aâ™ 2â™ 9â™ 3♦ for tunnny as both players watched the board Qâ™ 10♥ J♦ 6♥ 8♦ completely miss both of them and tunnny’s nine kicker took down the 42,884 chip pot leaving josio desperately thin. Six hands later, JP Kelly would claim the rest of josio’s chips, leaving Kostritsyn on the money bubble and Player of the Series points bubble in 10th place starting up the final table in just over hour hours.

No chance for a bailout
Five hands into the final table with the blinds at 1,250/2,500 ante 325 JaniOsmo was trying to work out of a hole sitting on just 11,753 chips while open shoving double suited kings 9♣ K♣ 10♥ K♥ . Unfortunately lukro8 was sitting in the cutoff with aces A♠A♥ J♦ 10♦ and both watched the all-low board 4♣ 6♠4♦ 5♣ 6♥ come out as neither player had a shot had an emergency low. lukro8 scooped up the 30,181 chip pot and JaniOsmo took home the first money slot in ninth place ($5,250.00).
Upset tunnny
As the blinds moved up to 1,500/3,000 ante 375 tunnny would open shove from early position for 29,534 as it folded around to JP Kelly in the big blind who would call holding 2♣ 10♥ 8♥ A♦ . tunnny would turn over the coordinated A♣ 5â™ 4♣ Kâ™ which looked prettier than Kelly’s badugi hand but poker is not about looks, only the board matter and tonight they favored the British pro as a ten on the door 10♦ Q♦ Qâ™ 2♦ 8♣ was enough to claim the chip lead and the 63,568 chip pot sending tunnny home for some pepto bismol in eighth place ($6,000.00). Gathering even more cash after tunnny’s final table in Event #21-H where he scored $13K in seventh place.
Denied a watch for an ankle
cal42688 was shooting for a three-peat tonight after collecting his second SCOOP watch earlier this week but the cards just would not favor him tonight. Watch below as the Event #27-H champ says goodbye to his remaining chips:

Both carried big slick into the hand, and both would catch their third highest card as cal42688’s tens failed to best the jacks of alexandrapau on the Jâ™ 3♣ K♣ 9â™ 10♦ board to finish in seventh place ($6,750.00).
Fast and furious not strong enough description
Just five hands later chip leader JP Kelly would open shove from UTG daring the table to call him and a customer in the ultra-short stacked bratpack1979 who just lost the majority of his chips in the previous hand to Nicole_Katz. 4♦ 10♥ 9â™ 7♦ would need some help against the aces of Kelly A♥ 8♦ A♣ 4â™ . Two pair by the turn 7♥ 3♥ 5♥ 4♥ gave bratpack1979 a sliver of hope but the 5♣ river added 29,068 chips to JP Kelly’s chip lead and ended bratpack1979’s night in sixth place ($8,250.00).
Slow play, no pay
Just two hands after bratpack1979’s elimination, watch below as Nicole_Katz finds aces and tries to make the maximum off them against alexandrapau but the plan backfires below:
After completing the small blind both players looked at a K♥ 8♦ 7♠flop. Nicole_Katz decided then to spring the trap shove a short 46,964 stack into the middle. But, alexandrapau caught top and bottom pair 4♣ 7♣ Q♣ K♣ and had the chips to the make the call. The board would fail to find another low card J♥ 9♥ and Nicole_Katz aces were cracked to finish in fifth place ($11,250.00).
Perhaps needing a seventh sense
Despite the split pot nature of the game we would go from eight to three players in a matter of nine minutes. The blinds moved up to 2K/4K ante 500 and SixthSenSe19 holding 43,129 called all six of those senses to shove over the top of alexandrapau’s raise to 8,000 from the cutoff. Folded back to alexandrapau who took the chip lead from JP Kelly and made the call holding Q♣ 7♥ A♦ 3♣ . SixthSenSe19 turned over a decent 2♦ 9â™ 10♦ Aâ™ but only alexandrapau would find a piece of the 4♥ 3â™ J♥ K♣ K♥ as they pair of treys took down the 92,258 chip pot as SixthSenSe19’s sense of money just got $15,000.00 larger in fourth place. This was SixthSenSe19’s second Omaha Hi/Lo final table of the 2011 SCOOP series, taking fourth in Event #14-M for $9,350.00
Role Reversal
Three-handed play would last nearly 20 minutes as the players passed around the chips. But, alexandrapau’s reign as chip leader came to a close at the hands of JP Kelly who snagged a 172,046 chip scoop from the former chip leader. Then three hands later with the blinds at 3K/6K ante 750 lukro8 would shove from the button for 168,514 as Kelly folded but alexandrapau made the call for 25,815 chips turning over 7♦ Q♣ 10♦ K♣ looking for a high board. The short stack would get it off the flop 5♣ 10â™ 7♥ hitting two pair to take the lead over lukro8’s aces Aâ™ 6â™ A♣ Q♦ but lukro8 locked up at least half the pot with a low. 8♣ on the turn did nothing but the 5â™ pairing on the river gave lukro8’s aces a boost to a higher two pair scooping the 68,880 chip pot and knocking out alexandrapau in third place ($22,500.00) denying the Canadian of a second SCOOP 2011 watch after victory in Event #23-H for $84K.
Blink and it was done
Heads-up play would take exactly five hands with JP Kelly winning the first three hands but lukro8 winning the more important final two. Watch below as the similarly stack players decide to end things by shoving preflop:

Low wrap with a suited ace for Kelly which would connect nicely with a low board, but instead kings and eights with an ace K♣ A♦ K♦ 8â™ 8♦ on the board giving lukro8’s jack the winning kicker as the Team PokerStars pro came up just short of claiming the SCOOP watch in 2nd place ($30,000.00) and lukro8 found enough scoops in this wild race to claim the Event #33-H first price of $45,000.00 plus the memento for his wrist as a SCOOP champion.
