PokerStars is proud to support a brand new poker festival for women that will heat things up during London’s chilly winter season.
Satellites now available
There’s no doubting the headline: a £100,000 guaranteed Main Event and a buy in of only £400. All taking place between 21-24 November 2024.
But it will also be a great opportunity for women in poker. A trip to London to highlight the best of the women’s game at the Hippodrome Casino in London.
Even better, players can now secure Main Event seats in satellites on PokerStars.com.
Free-to-enter ‘Freebuy’ satellites now run daily at 16:15 UK. And you can use rebuys or add-ons (which means adding more chips to your stack) for only £0.11.
Or, if you prefer to jump ahead, then £1.10 satellites await to advance players to £11 qualifiers.
Check out the tournament lobby for times.
You can also play £109 direct qualifiers which guarantee prize packages worth £1,300 to the Women’s Winter Festival. They’ll run at 20:00 UK time on the following dates:
- Sunday, September 22
- Tuesday, September 24
- Friday, September 27
- Sunday September 29
Prize packages include entry to the £400 Main Event and 3 nights’ accommodation. That will be at the Z Hotel on Tottenham Court Road (a short walk from the Hippodrome) for players and a guest. Plus, £300 for travel expenses.
Please note: This is a women’s only event. Any male satellite players risk disqualification. And forfeiting any prizes and buy-ins.
Kerryjane Craigie is Director of Poker at the Hippodrome Casino, and herself a PokerStars Ambassador. She’s spearheading the event.
On average tournament fields comprise only 3% women. Kerryjane’s plan is to change these figures by “creating a significant and meaningful women’s-only Main Event.”
That plan includes creating a welcoming environment. One that elevates women’s participation in the game and raises the profile of women in poker. Regardless of their ability.
“It might be controversial, but it’s necessary,” she said. “This approach promotes growth in the game and nurtures confidence in women, paving the way for more capable players to compete in mixed-field events in the future.”
You can find all Women’s Winter Festival satellites under the ‘Tourney’ tab. Simply type ‘Women’ in the search field.

On the final day, there’s the Women’s Closer Freeroll with a women’s package to EPT Prague up for grabs, plus other prizes for the finalists.
To make the festival accessible to all, there will be multiple qualification routes and plenty of satellites available, providing various pathways to join in on the action. PokerStars will host Live Satellites in the United States, as well as a £40 buy-in registration fee free live qualifier at the Hippodrome on Thursday 21 November with five added Main Event seats.
Ensuring that players have something to look forward to both on and off the felt, the event will also host players at a sparkling afternoon tea followed by Magic Mike Live at the Hippodrome’s Theatre.

KERRYJANE CRAIGIE BECOMES POKERSTARS AMBASSADOR
PokerStars is thrilled to announce the appointment of Kerryjane Craigie as an Ambassador for Women in Poker. A respected figure in the poker community, Craigie brings extensive experience and a passion for promoting diversity and inclusion within the game.
As Director of Poker at the Hippodrome in London, Craigie has worked tirelessly to make her poker room a safe and inviting space. But her work extends beyond the Hippodrome’s walls, plus she’s a great poker player in her own right.
“I am delighted and honoured to be given the opportunity to promote and support women in poker as a PokerStars ambassador,” said Craigie. “I truly believe that PokerStars’ mindset and commitment to making a difference are perfectly aligned with today’s environment.”
She continued: “Launching an active program for Women in Poker with initiatives to encourage, support, and promote this game we all love is incredibly exciting. There are challenging moments at a poker table when someone in a minority, not just gender, feels uncomfortable. It’s time to make that a thing of the past, and we can all make a conscious change. I’m beyond thrilled to be a part of it and ready to get started!”
