Attention future Power Path winners

One of the many perks for Power Path qualifiers at the France Poker Series (FPS) was an exclusive meet-up event, at which there was an EPT Paris package up for grabs.

Those Silver Pass winners who attended the meet-up on 15 February were invited to spin a wheel and hope it landed on the jackpot worth €7,800. If it did, their prize would include:

  • €5,300 Main Event buy-in
  • Eight nights’ accommodation for the player and a guest at the hotel Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile (Feb 18-26) with breakfast included
  • And €460 credited to their Stars Account to cover costs

The lucky winner was 29-year-old Parisian Alex Decorbez, a trader who loves poker and has been playing for around five years.

Decorbez extends his stay

When not working, Decorbez is trying to improve his poker game and recently tried his luck on the PokerStars Power Path. He came close to a coveted Gold Pass, but gladly settled for a Silver Pass worth $2,500 and used it to book his entry to the FPS Main Event in his hometown.

Alas, he didn’t have much luck and busted just before the bubble. But he certainly had luck on his side at the meet-up, extending his stay with a Gold Pass win.

“Sometimes I begin Power Path at the €1 stage, other times I go straight in at €10,” Decorbez told us. “It’s amazing, such a freeroll for me. You don’t believe that you could have this amazing experience from just €1.”

Unfortunately, the EPT Paris Main Event didn’t go his way either and he was eliminated on Day 1A. But Decorbez is thrilled he has got to meet so many members of the French poker community on this trip.

“It’s really unreal meeting people like this,” he says. “Poker pros, media, commentators, PokerStars Team Pros. Everyone is super nice and super open.”

The event is a Crazy Pineapple All-In Shootout, in which players get dealt three cards and discard one after the flop.

To play, qualifiers must sign up at the info desk. The winners of each table will advance to the final table.

As we’ve seen at previous EPT stops, the events create an incredibly exciting atmosphere – one you won’t want to miss.
