USE POWER PATH TO PLAY THE SUNDAY MILLION ANNIVERSARY

On Sunday April 7, one of the biggest tournaments of the year takes place on PokerStars. It’s called the Sunday Million Anniversary and it’s celebrating 18 years of the iconic event with an $8 million guaranteed prize pool, and at least $1 million up top for the eventual champ.

You might think you can’t use your Power Path tickets for the Sunday Million Anniversary 18 (SMA18) as the buy-in for the special event is $215, rather than the regular $109 price point.

But PokerStars has tweaked things…

Players can now use any Step 3 $11 Power Path tickets to buy into $11 Direct satellites for the SMA18

Likewise, you can use any $1 Step 2 Power Path tickets to buy into the $1 Phased satellites running daily.

Plus, SMA18 tickets have been added to every Power Path Step 4 event, so you can use your $109 tickets to book a seat on top of any prizes in the regular prize pool. These special edition Step 4s are called ‘Power Path Step 4 Qualifier Sunday Million Anniversary’ in the PokerStars client.

WHY PLAY THE SUNDAY MILLION?

If there’s one tournament that every poker player loves to play and hates to miss, it’s the Milly.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a high-stakes professional used to playing for $1 million first-place prizes, or a weekend warrior who likes to take a shot on a Sunday afternoon. The Sunday Million is the weekly online title that everyone wants on their resume.

Some players have even won it more than once. Russian crusher Artem “veeea” Vezhenkov remains the only player to have won the Milly three times, while at least 20 players can call themselves two-time Sunday Million champions.

As for the largest Sunday Million prize, that went to Vanessa “Niffler” Kade back in March 2021 when she won a special Anniversary edition of the Milly for a staggering $1,514,920.

Power Path players can now gain entry to the Milly not only by winning a Bronze Pass worth $109 but simply by winning a Step 4 Power Path ticket.

So if you don’t fancy trying to go for a big Pass and instead would rather hop into the Sunday Million instead, now you can.

Or perhaps you’re grinding the $11 buy-in Step 3 a ton and you’ve collected a healthy yield of Step 4 tickets. If that’s the case, you can now use them to play the Milly every week!
