Sam GreenwoodWe wrote earlier that EPT Malta winner Niall Farrell was still going strong in this event. The same applies to Sam Greenwood, one of the players Farrell defeated at the Malta final table, who is still going strong in Prague.

That was until a few minutes ago, when Greenwood’s short stack finally gave in. But it has been a remarkable year for the Canadian.

Six week ago Greenwood looked like he could add EPT silverware to a resume that already sparkles with a WSOP title won last summer. He went on to finish sixth, collecting €125,660, the same position he’d finished in the high roller just days earlier for a further €110,590. Eight final tables this year. Greenwood was a man in form.

Flash forward to Prague and it seems that form is unchanged. Last week he reached another final table, narrowly missing out on the Super High Roller title when he finished second to Steve O’Dwyer, winning €583,500. Now, on Day 3, he looked on course to go deeper still in the Main Event until a short while ago when he ran tens into the kings of Samuel Vousden of Finland.

Still, more than $2million won in what has been a breakout year.
