PokerStars named Best Poker Operator at the EGR Operator Awards
PokerStars has been named Best Poker Operator six times over the past decade
The world of PokerStars has been so busy of late – what with its incredible recent live events in Edinburgh, Nottingham, Seville, and Las Vegas (how about those wheel covers on Max Verstappen’s winning car?) – that another bit of good news almost got lost in the mix.
We are delighted to announce that PokerStars was named Poker Operator of the Year at the 2023 EGR Awards, which took place at Grosvenor House, London on October 26, 2023.
This is the sixth time in the last 10 years that PokerStars has won this coveted award at the industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony.
“THE AWARD RECOGNISES EVERYONE AT STARS”
A dedicated team worked on the submission, collating information from across the business, and receiving input from planning & strategy, campaigns, live events and PR. On hand to collect the award on behalf of the entire PokerStars team were Head of Poker Editorial James Hartigan, as well as PR Manager Will Shilibier.
“This was the second time I’ve been invited to attend the EGR Operator Awards. And on both occasions, PokerStars was named Best Poker Operator. Probably a coincidence. But possibly not,” said Hartigan.
“While the award recognises everyone at Stars who works hard to deliver the best possible experience to all our players, my victory in the poker tournament at the afterparty was an individual achievement that no one, other than me, has talked about or celebrated. Quite frankly, it’s deserving of its own Blog article.”

To cap off a fantastic evening, PokerStars was also shortlisted in the headline category: Operator of the Year.
“It was an amazing night!” said Shillibier. “To be part of such a prestigious industry event, and of course to win, was really special. Loads of teams worked long and hard on the submission, and it really showcased everything that PokerStars does and how well we do it.
“Every department and every staff member is always striving to improve and be the best, and to win this award, one PokerStars has won so often, is a testament to that.”
The EGR Operator Awards celebrate and reward B2C operators for setting the standard in categories ranging from customer service to safer gambling with awards reflecting all verticals.
Their rigorous judging process, based on the views of a panel of leading egaming experts, ensures that the Awards truly recognise those firms driving innovative solutions and delivering market-leading products and services, making the winners those “that really are out of this world”.
PokerStars is proud to be one of them yet again.
