Shaban and Negreanu: 12 labours towards a Platinum Pass
Have you been following along with Arlie Shaban’s ’12 labours of Hercules’ challenge? If not, you missed a very entertaining evening on Tuesday.
For his third challenge from the Poker Gods, Arlie was tasked with ‘capturing the Canadian GOAT’. This turned out to mean a coaching session with none other than Daniel Negreanu, which took place live on Twitch.
Arlie and Negreanu, as well as Benjamin Spragg and Jason Somerville, went through Shaban’s hands and discussed strategy, before playing heads-up matches versus the Twitch community.
Then Negreanu had a big announcement. If Arlie can complete his challenges, he’ll win a $30K Platinum Pass.
Two players win EPT Prague packages in The Big Race
If you missed the Russian Grand Prix last weekend, you might not know that Lewis Hamilton won the race after his Mercedes team mate, Valtteri Bottas, was ordered to let Hamilton pass for the win.
That sort of thing happens a lot in F1, but what made it so crushing this time was that it cost a PokerStars player the chance to get an EPT Prague package.
Y’see, PokerStars had run a $2 Big Race tournament, and the top 20 finishers were each assigned a driver in the Grand Prix. Whoever’s driver won would be heading to Prague, and alas, Bottas’s sacrifice cost a guy his trip.
Or did it? Nope. PokerStars is sending them both.

It’s been observed more than a few times that poker and life have a lot in common. As Team Pro Liv Boeree explains in her latest TED talk, you can draw some important life lessons from the game when it comes to making decisions.
“Like poker, life is also a game of skill and luck,” Boeree says at the start of the talk. “And when it comes to the biggest things we care about — health, wealth, and relationships — these outcomes don’t only depend on the quality of our decision making, but also on the roll of life’s dice.”

BSOP Millions returns to Sao Paulo in November with R$12M GTD
The biggest poker event in all of Latin America is back this November.
The BSOP Millions — as part of the Brazilian Series of Poker — will have 43 tournaments and R$12M guaranteed in prize money.
So, fancy heading to Brazil’s capital of Sao Paulo? Satellites are running right now on PokerStars.

Off the back of their first Monday-night stream, James and Joe run through the latest poker headlines before welcoming Arlie Shaban to the show.
The former ‘Big Brother Canada’ contestant, best known for his 125-day and 43-hour Twitch marathons, is currently undergoing the ’12 Labours of Arlie’, and uses the podcast to “tell the world about his deeds,” and share his life story.
