ABOUT THE SERIES
You wouldn’t run a marathon without weeks of training. You wouldn’t sit an exam without studying. You wouldn’t set off on a long road trip without stocking up on supplies and filling the car with fuel.
And yet, when it comes to the most prestigious online poker series of them all – the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) – many of us jump straight in, smashing that ‘Register’ button without any prep or warm-ups.
There’s nothing wrong with that, of course.
But just think how well you might play – and the results you might get – if you allowed yourself a WCOOP training camp…
GET CHAMPIONSHIP-READY – AUGUST 4-19
Introducing WCOOP Boot camp – an 80-event warm-up series designed to help casual players prepare for WCOOP and get a taste of what playing a series is like (if you’ve never played one before).
Each event has two buy-in levels – Low and High – meaning there are 160 tournaments overall with buy-ins starting from as little as $2.20.
Players not only love WCOOP due to its history and prestige, but they also love it because of the different poker variants you get to play; the myriad of fun tournament formats in the mix; and last but not least, the huge prizes on offer.
WCOOP Boot camp replicates all of that, and at the low buy-in level, it does so at a fraction of the cost.
LEARN FROM BBZ POKER
As this is a training camp, PokerStars has teamed up with the esteemed coaches of some of your favourite PokerStars Ambassadors.
BBZ Poker is where Lex Veldhuis, Spraggy, Fintan, Tonkaaaa and more study and improve, and from August 3-9, the team — led by founder Jordan “bigbluffzinc” Drummond — will provide free training sessions to PokerStars players as part of WCOOP Boot camp.
The coaching team boasts some of the best in the game, including Alex “Pwndidi” Theologis, Andy “bowieeffect” Wilson, Jargo “bungakat” Alavalli, and Mason “pyefacepoker” Pye.
To take part in the sessions all you have to do is join the BBZ Poker Discord channel and then look for the sub-channel POKERSTARS BOOT CAMP.
There, Zoom links will be posted where you can join and watch the free seminars.
Each session will be based on the WCOOP Boot camp event taking place the next day. For example, if there’s a Progressive Knockout (PKO) event on Tuesday, they will do a PKO coaching session on Monday.
Head to the BBZ Poker Discord and get yourself set up.
WCOOP BOOT CAMP LEADERBOARD
Just like the real WCOOP, there will be a leaderboard running throughout the Boot camp with incredible prizes up for grabs, rewarding consistency and hard work.
The top 100 finishers of the Leaderboard will win something, starting with a $109 Sunday Million ticket. The top six finishers will bag themselves a Power Path Gold Pass worth $10,300.
NOTE: Events with buy-ins of $530+ will not be counted for the Leaderboard.
LEADERBOARD PRIZES:

7th – 20th: WCOOP Silver Pass (worth $2,500)
21st – 100th: $109 Sunday Million Ticket
WCOOP BOOT CAMP SCHEDULE
WCOOP League
Taking inspiration from the inaugural SCOOP League earlier this year, a new WCOOP League will pit six teams against one another in the quest to be crowned league champions.
Each team will feature a familiar captain, with PokerStars ambassadors Lex
Veldhuis, Ben ‘Spraggy’ Spragg, Fintan ‘easywithaces’ Hand, and Parker ‘tonkaaaa’ Talbot each ready to skipper a team throughout the series.
That’s four captains. Stay tuned for news of two more captains to be unveiled soon.
The WCOOP League needs a draft, and that will take place during EPT Barcelona in September. That’s where team captains will select remaining members of their teams, including players they’ve spotted throughout WCOOP Boot camp.
