How OP-Poker James turned $30 into $30,000
In May 2018, James Mackenzie of the OP-Poker team began his quest: a bankroll challenge which would see him turn $30 into a thousand times that: $30,000.
As a PokerStars Ambassador, Mackenzie played exclusively on PokerStars and streamed the entire thing on Twitch for our viewing pleasure.
A lot of bankroll challenges initiated by streamers fizzle out and are forgotten about.
But in August 2020, Mackenzie completed his mission and now has more than $30,000 in his PokerStars account.
The OP-Poker team have just released a new video in which Mackenzie breaks down exactly how he did it, including satelliting into the very first $530 Stadium Series event for $50 and finishing in seventh for $16,456.
Enjoy.
You can continue to watch James, Nick and Eva over on the OP-Poker Twitch channel.
6 essential things you need to start streaming poker on Twitch
If you’ve ever played a poker session whilst watching one of your favourite streamers on the side, chances are the idea of streaming yourself has crossed your mind.
There’s nothing stopping you. In fact, in the cases of Lex Veldhuis and his fellow PokerStars Ambassador Ben “Spraggy” Spragg, it was one of the best decisions they made.
Lex has now built a brand new studio in his new home, with every aspect custom-designed for him to stream. Who knows? Maybe one day you could do the same, but everyone has to start somewhere.
So what essential things do Lex and Spraggy think need to start streaming poker on Twitch?
Spraggy’s career almost came to an end
Thankfully (or sadly, depending on your opinion) he’ll be sticking around for a bit longer.

Clips of the week
When the tears come streaming down your face…
Big flip, big double.
What on God’s green earth is going on here?
Oh, you’re so good!
That’s GG…Oh, wait, what?
Clown content? Who cares when you win two bounties.
Errr…no, we don’t know either.
One to watch
“Peacendloove” – www.twitch.tv/peacendloove
Austria’s “Peaceendloove” has been hard at work on the bankroll challenge grind.
He started with $100 a few weeks ago, and he’s hoping to run that up to $10,000 while streaming the whole thing on Twitch.
(We recommend he watches the OP-Poker James video!)
Anyway, “Peacendloove” is new to streaming but grinds the micros in the English language.
