We may only have six new winners from yesterday’s Turbo Series action, but three of them are very familiar indeed.
First-up on the winner’s sheet from Wednesday, April 15 is multiple SCOOP and WCOOP champion Joris “BillLewinsky” Ruijs, who claimed a Turbo Series title in Event 76, the $530 PLO, for $23,613. Ruijs overcame a 245-entry field to win the lion’s share of the $122,500 prize pool.
Denis “aDrENalin710” Strebkov finished third in that one ($12,869), having won a Turbo Series title last week.
Then we had EPT7 San Remo champion Rupert “ElRupert” Elder who picked up a big win in the $22 NLHE (#77) for $31,641. The field was enormous–14,437 entries when registration closed–creating a $288,740 prize pool which smashed the $175K guarantee.
One player who always performs his best during a big tournament series is Gianluca “Tankanza” Speranza. After all, he pulled off one of online poker’s most impressive feats when he won the WCOOP $10K Main Event for the second consecutive year (and back-to-back $1M+ score) back in October 2019.
He now has a Turbo Series title to add to his collection, taking down the $530 Hyper-Turbo (#80) for $49,041. The tournament had 544 total entries and Speranza banked more than 20 per cent of the $277,178 prize pool.
