TCOOP 2013: outlaw523 outlucks AznTiltU for Event #38 title ($215 NLHE Ante-Up)

Five all-ins and a call in the last ten hands of this tournament made for one of the more exciting finishes of a -COOP tournament. The turbo aspect of the Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP) tends to push players into adding more of the luck aspect of poker into the game. But, as seen with several players who have scored in the Sunday Million, WCOOP, and SCOOP tournaments, good players have been turning this “luck” to their advantage. Take tonight’s Event #38 champion outlaw523 who won $80,000.00 after taking down the chip freight train of AznTiltU who was looking to finish off the final table quickly. Instead “luck” tilted to outlaw523’s side of the table at just the right time for the victory.

The TCOOP leaderboard will be getting more and more views as Event #49 otherwise known as the $2,000,000 guarantee TCOOP Main Event looms three days away. A 2014 PCA package is on the line and Norway’s Tinas21 still holds a slight 15 point lead over Denmark’s Tjepan. Tinas21 would finish well out of the money in 855th place and Tjepan did not gain any ground with a 582nd place ending. Even Faith#1Virtu third place on the leaderboard, who has played every event thus far would not cash (1,031st place).

Team Pro Toni Judet and recent Team Online addition Caio Pessagno would make sure the Red Spades made it into the 252 pay spots today. While Caio enjoyed an average chip stack after hour two when the money broke, Toni would nurse a small stack over the cash line after He3HaiKa (Russia) busted in 253rd place and assured everyone else $450.00 in winnings today. With the antes up to 1,500 chips, Judet would open shove 3,722 chips from UTG as dynastar63jp followed immediately with a push for 30,145. No one else decided to hop in as Toni turned over a connecting 10♥ 9♣ against dynastar63jp’s big slick A♥ K♣ . The two live cards were dead to a runner-runner straight after the K♦ 6♣ K♥ flop. A runner 8♥ hit the turn, but the second one never showed up in the race 6♥ as Judet collected $475.00 in 225th place.

Caio however would bag up 89,990 chip into the third hour as the antes moved up to 4,500 (costing a player 40,510 chips per orbit, at least for that five minute blind level) while the average stack sat around 130,000. Among those who continued on to the third hour with 76 players remaining was vmnielsen (Denmark) who made two Sunday Warm-Up final tables and got a front row seat to Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree’s victory in 2011. joaoMathias with two WCOOP final tables also remained in the hunt for the TCOOP champion’s golden card protector.

With three tables left and antes at 12,500 Caio would be joined by Supernova Elite pappadogg and recent Sunday Warm-Up winner zen_mec who claimed $107K just two weeks ago after taking down Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul heads up for the title. zen_mec would fail to last long finishing in 22nd place after running A♣ 10♣ into the big slick A♥ K♣ of pappadogg who took down the 304,573 chip pot.

On the table opposite of Pessago no one liked the fact that AznTiltU would double up Chris “ImDaNuts” Oliver to over one million chips as the fourth hourly break was about to hit with antes at a steep 20,000 chips. Then on the final hand before the break Oliver would raise to 43,255 chips as it folded to AznTiltU who shoved for 1.42 million chips. The rest of the table could not fold quickly enough back to Oliver who insta-called with big slick K♣ A♦ . “Tilt” probably is not strong enough for what happened as AznTiltU flipped up 5♣ 6♣ and got there with a five on the flop 2♦ 5♥ Q♦ J♥ J♠ eliminating Chris Oliver in 16th place ($2,200.00) and taking a huge chip lead in the process with the 2.26 million chip pot.

With the antes up to 30,000 Caio Pessagno finally found two cards to go with and shoved for just 30,030 on top of the ante as onmybicycle also shoved for 1.2 million. Not done with the hand, outlaw523 joined with a call for 361,608. Big slick A♦ K♥ for outlaw523, Q♥ J♠ for onmybicycle, as Caio got the best he could hope for in two live cards 5♦ 10♦ . Despite a pair and a flush draw, Pessagno would be eliminated in 13th place ($3,050.00) after the 10♥ K♣ Q♦ 3♦ 7♠ board shoved the pot at outlaw523.

Two hands later with the final table bubble on the line nineallday00 would shove for 426,977 from the big blind and a limping outlaw523 made the call with A♦ 8♠ . Q♥ 6♥ for nineallday00 would find an unneeded nine on the 9♥ A♠ 5♠ 10♠ 5♣ board and finished as the bubble boy in 10th place ($3,900.00) starting up the final table below:

Still tilting people

On the final table’s first hand AznTiltU wasted no time carving into the fresh tablemates. The antes remained at 30,000 as K0VAK would shove for 424,032 chips as it folded to AznTiltT who min-raised and flipped up pocket treys 3♦ 3♠ after pappadogg folded. A coin flip for K0VAK holding A♣ 4♥ but the 1.08 million chips would make their way to AznTiltU after blanking on the J♥ 2♠ 8♣ 6♦ 7♦ board as K0VAK pocketed $5,000.00 for ninth place. Another nice score for the Sunday Million final tablist who hauled away $59,876.40 last January after taking fifth place.

Unfair bicycle race

As the antes moved up to 40,000 onmybicycle saw a million chip stack dwindle to 619,331 and found a spot to open shove for the considerable dead money in the middle. Folded to nemesis outlaw523 who shoved for a million and change while showing big slick K♦ A♥ . onmybicycle’s A♦ J♠ started with a flat tire and never improved 9♦ 2♦ 4♠ 9♠ Q♠ . This was onmybicycle’s second final table of the 2013 TCOOP after notching a ninth place finish in Event #28 for $2,862.37

Anything but empty

Seven hands later a little three-way action broke out that had EMPTY1SEAT, AznTiltU, and jokkee_apart all in preflop with AznTiltU still covering the table. Watch below as AznTiltU tries for the double knockout:

No double KO for AznTiltU’s 10♦ K♥ as EMPTY1SEAT’s big slick would take down the 1.68 million main pot on the 7♥ 2♦ 3♠ 4♣ 4♠ board. jokkee_apart’s Q♥ 8♥ failed to connect enough for the 315,294 chip side pot against AznTiltU and finished in seventh place ($13,500.00). Now all that is needed is a WCOOP final table for jokkee_apart after hitting the SCOOP 2011 Event #13-M’s final nine for seventh place earning $5.5K.

More TILT 4 U

If EMPTY1SEAT threw a chair, laundry basket, or a kitchen appliance after this hand, we doubt anyone would place blame. Seven hands after jokkee_apart’s departure, EMPTY1SEAT would raise to 15 chips (with 360,000 chips in the middle from the 60,000 chip antes) as AznTiltU took the bait and shoved all in for 3.73 million. Folded back around to EMPTY1SEAT who called quickly with A♠ K♠ . AznTiltU’s 6♣ A♣ found a favorable flop 7♠ 4♠ 5♣ but lost some outs on the 5♠ turn. Despite losing two outs, AznTiltU found one on the river 3♦ hitting a straight and emptied the eight seat in sixth place ($18,500.00). Chalk up another big final table for EMPTY1SEAT after hitting the Sunday Million in July for $96,973.20 while taking third place.

Fourth and Fifth place named posthaste

Just three hands later with the ante remaining at 60,000 microstacked Assad91 would shove for 206,600 as outlaw523 called the bet holding 5♣ A♣ . Assad91’s suited connector 9♠ 8♠ failed to hook on to the 2♠ Q♦ 4♥ 5♠ A♥ board and quietly left in fifth place ($23,750.00).

Then on the next hand NicoGodoy93 would try some buy some luck against AznTiltU after shoving for 599,045 chips and getting the chip leader to make the call with 8♦ K♥ . NicoGodoy93 enjoyed a dominate position holding 8♣ A♥ for about .267 seconds as the board fanned out a king Q♦ 4♠ J♠ K♠ 2♠ shipping the 1.43 million chip pot to AznTiltU and ending NicoGodoy93’s night in fourth place ($32,875.00). The Argentinean’s last big score came with a small price tag after nailing a PCA package for just $10.00 this year.

No bone to throw

Another three hands and the antes would move up to 70,000 as outlaw523 made a reach for the 210,000 in the middle with a raise to 555,510. Supernova elite pappadogg would shove for a little more 780,365 as outlaw523 called with big slick A♠ K♠ . Would pappadogg’s dominated Q♥ K♣ continue the trend of bad beats? Watch below:

The ace kicker would hold on the 7♣ 2♣ 6♦ 8♣ 4♠ board as pappadogg collected $45,000.00 in third place.

Outlaw remains calm for the win

One hour and 15 minutes to reach our final two and the final two would battle for nearly a half hour with each of them on the ropes several times. First, it was AznTiltU who seemed destined to finish off the tournament in under five minutes would fall behind 3.2 million to 6.5 million and scored the first double-up 16 minutes into the battle after pocket fives 5♥ 5♦ outlasted outlaw523’s A♠ 4♣ on the J♥ 7♠ 4♦ 6♠ 10♥ board.

Then, two hands later it was outlaw523’s turn getting A♣ Q♥ to hold against AznTiltU’s K♣ 8♦ as a queen hit the flop 3♠ Q♠ 6♦ 9♠ 9♦ for a seven million chip pot. The lead would flop back to AznTiltU another two hands later when AznTiltU’s dominated A♣ 4♥ outflopped 4♦ 6♣ 9♥ 10♠ 2♥ outlaw523’s J♠ A♥ .

All-in every other hand? Yes sir. The fourth all-in had outlaw523 needing some love on the board. With the antes at 125,000 outlaw523 holding 4.02 million to AznTiltU’s 5.83 million both would get it in preflop again this time AznTiltU was leading with K♣ 10♠ to outlaw523’s J♦ 5♦ . But, it was outlaw523 turn to get lucky as the river notched a straight 7♥ 8♠ 8♥ 10♥ 9♣ to the jack.

The fifth all-in and a call in ten hands would slide the golden card protector to outlaw523 as outlaw523 shoved for an appropriate 7.77 million holding 7♠ 7♣ over AznTiltU’s 250,000 chip raise from the big blind. AznTiltU called with 8♠ Q♠ and watch the tournament go outlaw523’s way after a seven flopped A♠ Q♣ 7♦ 10♦ 3♦ to claim $80,000.00 and the Event #38 title!
