The tables at PokerStars were very busy this weekend, especially with MicroMillions 5 in full swing. Action started on July 18 and continues through July 28 with a total of 100 tournaments, all with micro buy-ins. If you’re playing, let us know how you’re doing on Twitter and Facebook!

Even more, players are downloading the PokerStars Mobile app in record numbers due to the current promotions. It might be enough just to have the free app in order to play whenever and wherever you choose, but don’t forget to try to win some of the big prizes that PokerStars is giving away, including some PokerStars Women’s Club tickets!

Oh, and did you catch our Twitter message about the new PokerStars Women Live events? We’ll post more about it this week, but suffice it to say that satellites are now running for the new season of the European Poker Tour, and winners of prize packages are able to choose which stop they’d like to attend on the tour.

Big things are happening at PokerStars, right?

And that includes the ever-popular $55 Women’s Sunday. This week, the numbers were as follows:

Total players: 207
Guarantee: $10,000.00
Prize pool: $10,350.00
Paid finishers: 36

There were four members of the PokerStars team in the tournament today, meaning there were four $50 bounties up for grabs. The first of the group to exit the tournament was Team Online’s Tatiana “Mysters_Y” Barausova, who hit the rail in 125th place, followed soon after by Team SportStars’ Fatima Moreira De Melo in 114th. Friend of PokerStars made it further but was eliminated in 77th place.

The top 36 players hit the money and played on, and the three-hour mark showed only two tables remaining. Team Online’s Adrienne “talonchick” Rowsome was on the lower end of the chip counts, and she was in last place during hand-for-hand play. But she doubled svetaccc to climb into the top half of the counts.

Then, fr0m02her0 got involved with mmmeggs to see a raised flop of Q♣ 8♥ 5♠ , and mmmeggs bet. Fr0m02her0 check-called for the A♠ turn, at which point mmmeggs bet again, and fr0m02her0 raised all-in with A♦ 5♦ . But mmmeggs showed A♥ Q♠ for best two pair, which held up to the 8♣ on the river. Fr0m02her0 exited in tenth place with $165.60.

Cosita Rica looks for second title

The final table was set in Level 17, with blinds of 1,000/2,000 and a 200 ante. The players’ chip counts were as follows:

Seat 1: gabes84 (52,236 in chips)
Seat 2: Mi§T¥ ߣuë (36,061 in chips)
Seat 3: Cosita Rica (178,490 in chips)
Seat 4: svetaccc (41,723 in chips)
Seat 5: talonchick (58,824 in chips)
Seat 6: sleepyspb (78,280 in chips)
Seat 7: Zolushka XXX (23,906 in chips)
Seat 8: mmmeggs (101,867 in chips)
Seat 9: veruda02 (49,613 in chips)

On the second hand, svetaccc pushed her stack all-in from the button with K♥ J♣ . Sleepyspb reraised all-in from the big blind with 9♣ 9♥ , and original raiser mmmeggs folded. The board came K♠ 8♣ 7♦ 9♠ J♦ , and the set of nines eliminated svetaccc in ninth place with $196.65.

Short-stacked Zolushka XXX was fairly quick to move, pushing all-in from middle position holding A♣ 8♥ . But Mi§T¥ ߣuë called from the big blind with A♠ 9♠ , and that ace kicker held up to the 5♠ 4♦ 7♥ 5♣ 10♠ board. Zolushka XXX exited in eighth place with $258.75.

Play slowed down quite a bit for a while, but it did allow Mi§T¥ ߣuë to double through gabes84. Veruda02 doubled through sleepyspb, and the latter did the same through Cosita Rica.

Gabes84 tried to recover with an all-in move holding K♦ Jâ™  on the button, but Cosita Rica called from the big blind with K♣ Q♥ . The board of Aâ™  3♥ Q♣ 2â™  7♦ only improved Cosita Rica’s hand, and gabes84 left the tournament in seventh place with $362.25.

A few hands later, mmmeggs pushed all-in with K♣ J♦ , and Cosita Rica called from the big blind with 5♦ 5♠ . The flop of 6♠ 7♦ 5♣ only helped Cosita Rica, and the 10♣ turn and 10♥ river completed a full house. Mmmeggs had to leave in sixth place with $465.75.

Talonchick was the next player at risk, first raising from the button to find that veruda02 was ready to reraise. Talonchick called all-in with Q♦ 10♥ , and veruda02 showed 2♥ 2♣ . The flop of 2♦ 9♣ J♥ gave veruda02 the set, and the 4♥ turn and 3♠ river left talonchick out in fifth place. While talonchick collected $600.30 for her finish, veruda02 continued on with an additional $50 bounty for eliminating a member of Team Online.

Mi§T¥ ߣuë then doubled through veruda02 on the next hand, and sleepspb did the same to take some chips from veruda02.

Sleepyspb lost ground again, though, and pushed all-in UTG with 58,040 chips holding 8♣ 8♠ . Veruda02 called with A♥ J♣ , and caught the ace on the K♥ 3♥ A♠ 5♠ 9♠ board. Sleepyspb had to exit in fourth place with $879.75.

Mi§T¥ ߣuë doubled through Cosita Rica, and she attempted it again three hands later by moving all-in with A♥ Q♣ . Veruda02 called with 3♣ 3♥ and not only made a set on the 3♠ 5♠ 8♥ flop, but the 2♥ turn and 2♣ river made a full house, eliminating Mi§T¥ ߣuë in third place with $1,169.55.

Veruda02 tries to deny Cosita Rica the win

Heads-up play began with these chip counts:

Seat 3: Cosita Rica (293,428 in chips)
Seat 9: veruda02 (327,572 in chips)

It didn’t take long for Cosita Rica to make a comeback and regain the lead. This was one of the initial key hands:

Veruda02 did catch a solid double-up to make it a close race once again, though, with this hand:

Cosita Rica pushed into a significant lead again, and veruda02 doubled up again. After about 40 minutes of heads-up play, Cosita Rica had jumped back to approximately 440K chips to the 180K of veruda02. It was soon after that veruda02 took another opportunity. Cosita Rica started with a raise, and veruda02 reraised. When Cosita Rica bumped it up again, veruda02 called with K♣ K♥ . But Cosita Rica showed A♥ A♠ , and those aces held up to the 7♥ 7♠ 10♠ Q♦ 5♥ on the board. Veruda02 accepted second place and the $1,552.50 that went with it.

Cosita Rica of Costa Rica claimed her second Women’s Sunday title! Not only did she win her first title a little over a year ago, she made a deep run just last week and finished in sixth place at the final table. This week, she won and grabbed $2,116.68 in prize money for the victory. Congrats!
