While WCOOP fever may be reigning supreme it did not have a complete monopoly on poker action this weekend. 2011 WSOP November Niner Sam Holden battled his way through to fourth in chips going into today’s final table of UKIPT Nottingham. A large £105,900 first place prize sits up top.

Victory today in the North of England would the young Brit’s first major open tournament title and he currently seems to be on form: he won the opening six-max tournament for £3,550. That may be somewhat short of the $782,115 he bagged up for at the World Series but a win’s a win. Coverage of the UKIPT Newcastle final table begins at noon (GMT).
