In the TV news business, when the producer has a hard time determining what should be the lead story, viewers are often offered something called an “umbrella lead” that encompasses two or more of the top stories of the day in the very first segment of the news. Consider this week’s Sunday Tournament report one very big umbrella. What happened this weekend? First, the $2 Million PokerStars Turbo Takedown let a player named mombasi exchange his Frequent Player Points and a few hours work for $200,000. Want more? Okay, Team PokerStars Pro members Steve Paul-Ambrose and Daniel Negreanu both won big money this weekend. Paul-Ambrose took fourth in the Sunday Warm-Up and Negreanu won the High Stakes Showdown. What’s more, the Sunday Million hosted a whopping 7,900 players this weekend. It’s hard to imagine we won’t see an 8,000-player event very soon. Finally, this weekend also hosted a few extra events, including another installment of the Barry Greenstein Master Class.

See all the results from one astounding weekend below.
