What an exciting weekend! The MicroMillions 5 Main Event was on tap today. For only $22 players could get in on the $1 million guarantee, and there were a total of 59,213 players who actually registered! That created a $1,184,260 prize pool. Simply incredible.

Meanwhile, the PokerStars Mobile competitions are still in play, and we have another promotion to be announced tomorrow. Stay tuned for the Mobile Mystery competition!

Of course, we also have the $55 Women’s Sunday, and registration was very good for the last weekend in July. The $10K guarantee was blown away this week with these final numbers:

Total players: 237
Guarantee: $10,000.00
Prize pool: $11,850.00
Paid finishers: 36

Again, there were several members of Team PokerStars in the tournament for the great action, and each had a $50 bounty to be awarded to any player who could knock them out. Friend of PokerStars Charlotte “Sjlot” Van Brabander was the first to give away her bounty as she exited in 198th place, and Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree followed in 159th place. Fatima Moreira de Melo made it to 85th place before hitting the virtual rail, and Team Online’s Tatiana “Mysters_Y” Barausova exited in 60th.

Last week, Team Online’s Adrienne “talonchick” Rowsome made the final table and finished in fifth place. This week, she made it into the money again, cruising along through the money bubble and in the top 10 on the leaderboard with only three tables left.

However, with only two tables in play, talonchick lost ground and woke up with K♦ Kâ™  . She raised UTG, and PYSbKA called. But KaTee4ka reraised from the big blind, and talonchick responded by moving all-in. PYSbKA folded, and KaTee4ka called with J♥ J♣ . The flopo f 3♥ Qâ™  9♣ was innocent enough, but the J♦ hit on the turn to give KaTee4ka the set of jacks. The 5♣ on the river ended the hand, leaving Team Online’s talonchick out in 14th place with $159.97.

Just past the 3.5-hour mark of the tournament, only 10 players remained, and it was during that hand-for-hand play that mrs.cesspool pushed all-in from the small blind with A♣ 5♣ , and xAnGeLxEyEzx called from the big blind with A♥ K♠ . The board came 9♣ 7♠ 7♥ 7♦ 6♦ with no help for mrs.cesspool, who exited in tenth place with $189.60.

KaTee4ka leads final table

The final table was set in Level 17, with blinds of 1,000/2,000 and a 200 ante. The players’ chip counts were as follows:

Seat 1: m.a-0000 (53,565 in chips)
Seat 2: PYSbKA (75,527 in chips)
Seat 3: xAnGeLxEyEzx (92,869 in chips)
Seat 4: uwbabe (19,041 in chips)
Seat 5: LEDIIBOSS (121,789 in chips)
Seat 6: CHE*OK7 (21,321 in chips)
Seat 7: CamiCamCa (50,923 in chips)
Seat 8: peponaki81 (113,091 in chips)
Seat 9: KaTee4ka (162,874 in chips)

It didn’t take long for one of the short stacks to make a move. CHE*OK7 did it with K♦ 8♥ , moving all-in from the button for little more than 15K chips. CamiCamCa woke up with A♣ Q♥ in the small blind and reraised all-in, which prompted peponaki81 to fold her big blind and show an A♥ in the process. The board then revealed 3♥ 5♦ 5♣ 10♥ Q♣ , which didn’t help CHE*OK7, who had to leave in ninth place with $225.15.

M.a-0000 started the final table with a loss of a 95K-chip pot from LEDIIBOSS, and that gave m.a-0000 a relatively short stack. She pushed it all-in UTG with 8♥ 7♦ , and uwbabe was there with A♣ A♠ . The flop of 5♠ 4♦ 8♠ gave m.a-0000 hope, but the board finished with J♦ and A♥ , giving uwbabe a set of aces. M.a-0000 exited in eighth place with $296.25.

PYSbKA was on a roll. She took a pot worth 205K from LEDIIBOSS, and she then raised a subsequent hand on the button. Uwbabe reraised from the big blind all-in with A♦ 7♦ , and PYSbKA showed A♥ 9♣ . The board developed into 4♠ 5♠ K♣ 3♦ 8♥ , and that was enough to eliminate uwbabe in seventh place with $414.75.

Short-stacked xAnGeLxEyEzx was the next to risk her chips. The hand started with an UTG raise from PSYbKA, at which point xAnGeLxEyEzx reraised all-in. KaTee4ka reraised all-in from the big blind, which prompted PYSbKA to fold. KaTee4ka showed A♥ K♠ , but xAnGeLxEyEzx had Q♣ Q♥ , which was the best hand until the flop of 3♣ K♥ 8♦ gave KaTee4ka the better pair. The 6♦ turn and 4♦ river ended the hand with xAnGeLxEyEzx out in sixth place with $533.25.

A few rounds later, PYSbKA challenged again, this time with an all-in raise from the small blind. LEDIIBOSS was in the big blind with less than 40K and called all-in with A♠ 9♥ . PYSbKA showed only 6♥ 2♠ but caught trips on the K♥ 2♥ 5♥ 2♣ 10♣ board. LEDIIBOSS was out in fifth place with $687.30.

Final four

CamiCamCa was the shortest of the final four players and looked down at A♠ 10♥ . She raised, and peponaki81 reraised all-in. CamiCamCa called all-in to find out she was in a race with the 6♣ 6♦ of peponaki81. The K♣ 10♣ 6♠ was a double-edged sword, giving CamiCamCa a pair but making a set of sixes for peponaki81. The 2♠ turn and 9♣ river finished it, leaving CamiCamCa out in fourth place with $1,007.25.

The last three players were all in the same range of chip counts until peponaki81 scored this huge double-up through PYSbKA:

PYSbKA did double through KaTee4ka to stay in action, but a few hands later, PYSbKA tangled with peponaki81 again. The raised flop of 4♠ 4♦ 5♣ prompted peponaki81 to bet, and PYSbKA check-raised. Peponaki81 called, and the turn revealed the 2♥ . PYSbKA bet all-in with 3♣ 3♠ for two pair, but peponaki81 called quickly with A♦ A♣ and the better two pair. The 4♥ gave each a full house, but PYSbKA had the worst of the two and had to leave in third place with $1,339.05.

Heads-up action

The final two players prepared for battle with these starting stacks:

Seat 8: peponaki81 (544,014 in chips)
Seat 9: KaTee4ka (166,986 in chips)

KaTee4ka had no intention of giving up. She chipped up slowly but surely to climb above 250K in chips. However, peponaki81 was determined to stop her in her tracks.

The two got into a hand that started with a raised flop of K♦ J♦ 6♠ . Peponaki81 bet, and KaTee4ka check-called. The 5♣ on the turn brought another bet from peponaki81, and KaTee4ka check-raised that time. The reraises continued until KaTee4ka moved all-in with 6♣ 5♠ for the turned two pair, but peponaki81 called and showed K♣ J♥ for the best two pair from the flop. The 8♦ on the river ended the tournament for KaTee4ka (who just final tabled this event two weeks ago) in second place with $1,777.50.

Peponaki81 of Greece won the tournament and $2,423.43 in cash. Congrats!
