It really shouldn’t be any surprise that Marcel Luske is good at mixed games. Take a look at his Twitter feed some time @MarcelLuske – the guy’s enigmatic to say the least. Luske, who won the Sunday Warm-Up a few weeks ago, told us that he’s been working on his game a lot of late and has been keen on mixing it up.
When the action was five-handed Luske was short-stacked and deal negotiations began. Numbers had been suggested, agreement was on the near horizon when the chip leader (Luske didn’t tell us exactly who that was) started trying to leverage for a larger cut.
“I said to him, ‘You have 15 seconds.’ Then I made this noise,” said Luske, imitating a loud buzzer from a game show.
Luske summarily cancelled any deal proceedings saying that he would now play to win. The strategy certainly seemed to work. That’s a second trophy for the Flying Dutchman after his win in the HORSE (event #17).
