The last Sunday of the month presented a unique opportunity, as it was also the last Sunday of 2012. A Women’s Sunday title was up for grabs, not to mention more than $2K that would look nice in anyone’s bankroll as the new year approached. It was an exciting way to end the year, without a doubt.

Even more exciting to many, though, was the anticipation for 2013. Players turned out for the last PS Women Live qualifier for the upcoming PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Ladies Event, as the final prize package was to be awarded today. Other women were starting to consider packing for their trips to the Bahamas to play poker and enjoy the many opportunities for fun at the PCA.

Other women were anxiously awaiting news for the upcoming PokerStars Women’s Club. As the Women’s Poker League wrapped up its final days, PS Women organizers were busy putting the final touches on the Club. All will be revealed in the coming days, so stay tuned to the PS Women home page for details!

As for the business at hand, the $10K guarantee was left behind as registration for the Women’s Sunday showed these numbers:

Total players: 208
Prize pool: $10,400.00
Paid finishers: 36

With many players on holiday through the end of the year, only one $50 bounty was available this week, and it was Team SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo. She registered early and stayed strong through the first bit of the tournament, but she exited in 135th place.

As the money bubble approached halfway through the third hour, the two most recent Women’s Sunday winners – CzaRnaPL and lisaluce – were still in contention for second titles. The bubble took more than 15 minutes to burst, ultimately allowing PreBowser to be the first to cash out for $78.00. CzaRnaPL didn’t repeat her victory but cashed in 35th place.

The fourth hour saw the field drop to only two tables, at which time players like KOKIRITA exited, and December Women’s Sunday champion lisaluce finished in 14th. Play then moved quickly, and it was Dvesas who moved all-in with 10 players remaining. She bet all-in with A♦ 6♥ on a 6â™  10♥ Qâ™  4♣ board, but drkamikaze1 check-called with Q♥ 2♣ for the better pair. The 9â™  on the river eliminated Dvesas in tenth place with $166.40.

Drkamikaze1 and Nasty555130 battle for lead

The players and their accompanying chip stacks at the start of the final table were as follows:

Seat 1: coloccini20 (50,106 in chips)
Seat 2: Olya111 (110,846 in chips)
Seat 3: ellli10 (3,466 in chips)
Seat 4: nOzitifK@ (20,061 in chips)
Seat 5: fitlexi (71,081 in chips)
Seat 6: drkamikaze1 (127,367 in chips)
Seat 7: Izzuska88 (31,630 in chips)
Seat 8: Nasty555130 (122,771 in chips)
Seat 9: jamjars69 (86,672 in chips)

The shortest stack moved on the second hand of the table. Ellli10 pushed all-in with A♠ 3♣ , and Izzuska88 called from the big blind with J♦ 4♣ . The board came 9♦ Q♦ K♦ 6♥ A♦ for the nut flush, leaving ellli10 out in ninth place with $197.60.

A few hands later, coloccini20 made her move from the big blind. It started with a raise from jamjars69 in the small blind, and coloccini20 reraised all-in from the big blind with A♦ 6♥ . Jamjars69 called with J♥ Jâ™  and hit the set on the J♦ Q♣ 9♦ A♥ 7♦ board. Former Women’s Sunday champion coloccini20 left in eighth place with $260.00.

Fireworks then exploded when the two biggest stacks got involved. Drkamikaze1 raised from the button, and Nasty555130 reraised from the big blind. Drkamikaze1 called, and the flop came 5♦ 10♣ 2♠ . Nasty555130 bet, and drkamikaze1 called. The K♠ on the turn prompted an all-in bet from Nasty555130, and drkamikaze1 called all-in for the rest of her stack with Q♥ Q♠ . But Nasty555130 showed A♦ K♣ for top pair, and the 6♠ on the river changed nothing. Recent PCA satellite winner and SCOOP winner drkamikaze1 exited in seventh place with $364.00.

Fitlexi was the next at risk, pushing with Q♥ J♠ against the 10♦ 10♠ of jamjars69. The board came 8♠ 10♥ 6♦ 3♥ 4♦ for the set of tens, and fitlexi had to go in sixth place with $468.00.

Three hands later, nOzitifK@ moved all-in with 6♦ 6♠ UTG, and Nasty555130 reraised from the button to isolate, which worked. Nasty555130 showed A♠ 8♠ and hit the flush on the 4♠ 4♥ J♠ K♥ 5♠ board. That left nOzitifK@ out in fifth place with $603.20.

Play slowed a bit until Izzuska88 made her all-in move UTG with A♦ 6♥ . Olya111 called from the big blind with A♣ 10♣ , and the ten kicker played as the dealer gave them 5♣ 3♥ 8♠ 9♣ 8♥ . Izzuska88 was eliminated in fourth place with $884.00.

The two largest stacks of the final three players finally tangled. Nasty555130 raised from the small blind, and jamjars69 reraised from the big blind. Nasty555130 called, and the flop came 4♥ 4♣ K♥ . Jamjars69 bet out, and Nasty555130 check-called. The 10♦ on the turn brought a commend of “444444444444444” from Nasty555130 before she checked, and jamjars69 bet. Nasty555130 check-raised all-in, and jamjars69 called all-in for 132K more with Q♥ Qâ™  for two pair. Nasty555130 showed A♦ 8â™  for the pair of fours on the board, but the Aâ™  hit on the river for the best two pair. Former London PS Women Live champion jamjars69 took home $1,175.20 for third place.

Nasty555130 has nasty heads-up lead

The final two players started their match with these chip counts:

Seat 2: Olya111 (68,864 in chips)
Seat 8: Nasty555130 (555,136 in chips)

And it took only five hands to declare a winner. On that fifth hand, Nasty555130 put her opponent to the test with an all-in move. Olya111 called all-in with Q♣ J♣ , but Nasty555130 showed K♠ 9♦ . The flop came K♣ 5♦ 9♥ to give Nasty555130 two pair, and the 4♦ on the turn and 6♦ on the river allowed the two pair to stand, eliminating Olya111 in second place with $1,560.00.
