In keeping what will be a big start to the New Year, PokerStars will host its largest ever online tournament series in the United States later this month.

In keeping with that other prestigious event on the horizon, this US based contest will be known as the PSPC Online and run from January 13-30, 2023.

It will mark a small piece of online poker history, being the first multi-state online series for the recently combined player pool of Michigan and New Jersey.

What does that mean?

Well for the shared player pool in Michigan and New Jersey it means a guaranteed prize pool of $2.5 million across 85 events.

But there’s something for players in Pennsylvania as well. If you’re a PokerStars player in the Keystone State, you can enjoy a 72-event series with $1.5 million guaranteed.

You can read a bit about how that all came about below. Plus a few more details on how to play, and how to win a seat for much less than the buy-in.

But if you want to go straight to the schedules, scroll to the bottom of this post.

FIRST MULTI-STATE ONLINE SERIES IN THE US

“It was brilliant to see our communities in Michigan and New Jersey come out in force on January 1st to celebrate the combining of our player pool and enjoy our special New Year’s Day events and smash the guarantees,” said PokerStars US Managing Director, Severin Rasset.

“We’re now excited to bring players our first multi-state online series and our largest online series to date in the US, where players have the chance to join in the Bahamian fun of the PSPC and play alongside their favourite players as they battle it out on the online tables. There’s plenty more to come for the MI and NJ community and we look forward to exciting and awarding our players in 2023 and beyond.”

PSPC Online

Not everyone can stretch to the $25,000 buy in for the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) in the Bahamas later this month. But we can still take some inspiration from it with a PSPC Online.

The buy-in for this online Main Event is a more manageable $250. But it will award a whopping $300,000 guaranteed prize pool.

There will also be a $50 buy-in Mini Main Event featuring a $75,000 guarantee. And, a $2,500 buy-in High Roller Main Event awarding a $125,000 guaranteed prizepool

That all adds up to $500,000 to be awarded to the PokerStars community in Michigan and New Jersey, across the three Main Events.

So it’s worth making a note. The Main Events action gets underway on January 29.

And if you’re in Pennsylvania, the date for that one is also January 29, with the $150,000 Main Event featuring a buy-in of $250.

Something for all Bankrolls

But not everyone is at the level of playing events that cost $250 or even $50 to play. If that’s you we have plenty on offer during the PSPC Online series.

Players of all bank roll sizes across the three stages will find an event to play. Events start with buy-ins as low as $10, and satellites from just $1. You’ll find those in the PokerStars lobby.

Other ways to play the Main Event

First, you can win Main Event seats in special $2.50 Spin & Go’s.

Or, if you’re ready to top up your account by depositing $50 and using the code “PSPC Online” you’ll get a free ticket to the Depositor Freeroll on January 29.

That’s exactly as it sounds. A freeroll for anyone making a $50 deposit.

Marking a new era in online poker in the US

All these festivities follow on from the combination of Michigan and New Jersey player pools on PokerStars, which took effect on January 1 this year.

For players it means more choice, more tournaments, more players and bigger prize pools for the two states.

That occasion was marked by two special tournaments: A $100 buy-in event with $100,000 guaranteed, and a special $50,000 guaranteed event with only $10 to buy in.

Both exceeded their guarantees with the first of those events more than doubling its advertised prize pool.  The $50,000 event tipped the scales at $58,000 in prizes for the PokerStars community.

Plenty to celebrate and look forward to. Good luck!
