Rupert Elder started off his EPT Berlin campaign with a victory reminiscent of his EPT title win back in Season 7 by beating Max Heinzelmann in Event #5 (€1,100 NLHE turbo) for €49,800. Elder beat Heinzelmann into the runner-up spot in the Sanremo Main Event two seasons ago to claim the €930,000 winner’s cheque. Heinzelmann had to settle for second once again, a spot he’s becoming all too familiar with having also finished second to Ben Wilinofsky here at EPT Berlin at the previous tour stop.
Fellow nearly man Pierre Neuville, who has also finished runner-up in two EPT Main Events. claimed the final spot on the podium. Neuville most recently claim close in an epic heads-up against Team Online’s Mickey Petersen at EPT Copenhagen.
