10.30pm: It’s all over
Jan Skampa wins EPT Prague, earning €682,000
Eyal Avitan out in second winning €454,000
And just like that, it’s over in a flash. Jan Skampa has ground Eyal Avitan down, raising every single button. When he did it one last time – making it 450,000 – Avitan announced all in for his last four million. Skampa couldn’t have called quicker. Avitan winced when he saw Skampa’s J♥ J♦ . Avitan’s J♣ 9â™  was way, way behind.

The flop came K♥ 6♦ 2♣ leaving Avitan drawing to running nines. When the turn came 8♥ Avitan was drawing dead and the supporters of Skampa hit the roof. Even the new champion allowed himself a smile. Jan Skampa is out champion.

10.25pm: Bit by bit
No real pots of worth to talk about in the last ten minutes as all were very small. Lots of little pots add up, though, and if you’re winning the majority of them you can create air between yourself and your opponent. Skampa has been very good at winning those little pots and in doing so has opened up a lead of 12.5 million chips to Avitan’s 5 million.

10.15pm: Skampa takes the small ones; Avitan has the large
Jan Skampa took about three pots in a row, raising pre-flop and persuading Avitan to fold. But when they got to a flop, and got significantly more chips in, Avitan had the best hand. Here’s how it went: Skampa made it 450,000 and Avitan called. The flop came J♥ J♦ 4♦ and they both checked. The turn was 9♥ and Avitan bet 450,000, which Skampa called. The river was 2♥ and Avitan bet 600, which again Skampa called. Avitan showed Kâ™  9â™  and Skampa mucked.

10.10pm: Tit for tat
Avitan opens for 525,000 and Skampa called. On a flop of 7♣ 9♣ 10♣ Skampa checked and Avitan made it 700,000. Good for the pot.

On the next hand Avitan bet and Skampa called for a flop of 5♠ K♥ 8♥ . Skampa checked and Avitan made it 700,000. Skampa called for a 9♥ on the turn. Now Skampa made it 1,550,000 to go. Avitan put a chip on his cards and thought things through but eventually folded. More chips for the Czech.

10.05pm: Kicker issues
It finished as a pot worth 3.5million but it all started as a limped pot that brought a 5♥ 7â™  Q♦ flop. Jan Skampa led for 250,000 and was called by Avitan to see the A♥ turn where he called 525,000 from his opponent. The river came A♣ and Skampa showed no signs of slowing down and bet 1,000,000. Avitan shook his head but called anyway. Skampa revealed Q♥ 10♥ to Avitan’s Qâ™  8â™  . The kicker played so the nice sized pot went the way of the local boy.

Approx chips right now:
Skampa: 11,150,000
Avitan: 6,425,000

9.55pm: New chips
The mustard (Dijon) chips are now in play, worth 100,000. It’s their first appearance since Monte Carlo. Jan Skampa uses four of them (and two orange ones) to start the level, a 450,000 bet which Avitan called. The flop came J♥ 5♦ 7♣ . Avitan checked and Skampa made it 475,000. Call. Now a 5♣ on the turn. Avitan now made it 700,000. Skampa passed. 1.8 million to Avitan.

9.50pm: Gentlemen, start your engines
Level 32 is now beginning. Chips are:

Jan Skampa, Czech Republic, 9,150,000
Eyal Avitan, Israel, 8,425,000
