Samuel “uropan” Vousden locked up the biggest Blowout Series win of Day 13, Omaha champions were born, and PKO’s and hyper-turbos kept the poker madness going until the early hours. Here’s the full report:

BLOWOUT BULLETIN

Samuel “€urop€an” Vousden wins a Blowout Series title

Biggest Blowout Series win of day for Samuel “uropan” Vousden: The Thursday Thrill provided the spectacular end that it always promised, but it wasn’t to be for Lex Veldhuis, who, after holding a strong position at the start of the day, crashed out in 13th soon after the event resumed. At the top end of the table, Samuel Vousden battled it out heads-up with Preben “prebz” Stokkan in a clash of the pros, and the result of that clash really mattered given the final bounty made up a difference of tens of thousands of dollars. Vousden came through for a total of $92,063, locking up the biggest Blowout Series win of the day and taking his total online score to over $9 million.

UlDuffer is an Omaha champion: Pot-limit Omaha events rarely offer the greatest prize pools, but there’s a lot of esteem in winning one. Especially when your usual game is Texas Hold ‘em, which is exactly the case for Blowout Series winner Andrew “UlDuffy” Sweeney from Hungary. They have over $1.3 million in online cashes, with no Omaha in sight in their top 10 results. Sweeney won $14,344 in event 43-H. Also PLO champions as of today are “mitiyy” from Brazil (winner of 43-M for $7,860) and “BamBasty” from Germany (winner of the 43-L for $1,168).

Top Brazilian pro takes title: Brazil have been running away with the Blowout Series, and now have X wins racked up on the country leaderboards (see below). One of those representing on Day 13 was “pvigar”, who has over $3.8 million in online winnings and, according to PocketFives, is one of Brazil’s top players. He won event 44-H for $46,373, with $28,710 of that coming via a long string of knockouts. pvigar was one of only two Brazilians to take a title today, the second being daltonhb.

Huge day for daltonhb: Ahh, there’s no better feeling for a poker player than that moment when it all comes together and everything seems to just fall into place. “daltonhb” had one of those moments on Day 13 of the Blowout Series when they took down the 46-H, a juicy 4-Max PKO tourney, for $35,063. As this was going on, the special edition Daily Supersonic was reaching crunch time, the blinds rapidly forcing the action for the few remaining players. daltonhb was looking like a series contender to take down that one too and, incredibly, did manage to keep up with the pace for long enough to claim second place, adding a further $19,276 to their grand total. daltonhb has over $1.5 million in online wins and also bagged a WCOOP title in 2020. They will definitely one to watch this year.

Hyper turbo madness: Event 47 brought late night hyper-turbo madness to the party, with over $300k given out across the three buy-in levels in just a few short hours. “Kashmir_uzi” from the UK won the $530 tourney, banking $25,277 in just 2hrs 16mins. (This was the tourney in which daltonhb finished second). Kashmir_uzi already has previously picked up a SCOOP, WCOOP and Winter Series title, and now has a Blowout Series to their name. “cynicalfish” from Croatia won the 47-M for $21,418, and “valmonty” from Romania won the 47-L for $6,669.

TWITCH WATCH

Lex Veldhuis made a deep run in the $2,100 PKO, but not everything went his way when the PokerStars Ambassador returned for Day 2. You can check out his stream here to see how Lex gets on for the rest of the series. For now though, this is the rather interesting spot that cost Lex the tourney:
