Another big group took to the virtual felt this week in the Super Tuesday, the weekly $1,050 no-limit hold’em tournament at PokerStars. A total of 585 came out, building a $585,000 prize pool (nearly twice the $300K guarantee) to be divided by the top 72 finishers. After nearly 11 hours, four players made it to a final table deal after which mypokerf emerged as the eventual champ, a second Super Tuesday victory for mypokerf after winning the tournament one year ago.
It took more than five-and-a-half hours for the money bubble to burst, and with 72 players left superPolusha enjoyed the chip lead with more than 230,000, ahead of Jon “LUFCBas” Spinks’s second-place stack of about 160,000 with only three other players just over 100,000.
Over the next couple of hours the field whittled down to the last couple of tables, with Team PokerStars Pro Toni Judet among those making the cash by finishing 24th.
In Judet’s final hand, he was down to about 15 big blinds when he shoved all in over an opening raise by Markus “MarkusG91” Garberg and was called. Judet had 4â™ 4♦ and Garberg K♥ Qâ™ .
The 5♠A♣ J♦ flop and 3♠were okay for Judet, but the K♣ fell on the river to give Garberg the hand and send the Romanian to the rail with a $3,510 cash. That makes two straight deep runs for Judet in the Super Tuesday as he finished 16th last week.
It would take about a half-hour for them to play down from 18 to nine players, during which stretch mr.thorne pushed up to the top of the counts and former chip leader superPolusha fell back to short-stacked status.
lucky1007 (18th), Klebanov999 (17th), and Kevin “ImaLuckSac” MacPhee (16th) each earned $4,680 for their finishes. rh300487 (15th), danking11 (14th), and Carter “cswidler” Widler (13th) took away $5,850 apiece. And Markus “MarkusG91” Garberg (12th), buckguy2200 (11th), and Jon “LUFCBas” Spinks (10th) each ended with $7,020 cashes.

As the eight-hour break approached, the first hand of the final table saw Chester20o raising 2x to 9,600 from under the gun and getting three callers in superPolusha (cutoff), Greenstone25 (small blind), and mypokerf (big blind). The flop came 2♦ 10♥ 6♣ and it checked to Chester20o who bet 17,520. superPolusha then raised all in for 119,443, and it folded back to Chester20o who called.
superPolusha had flopped top pair of tens with K♣ 10♠, but Chester20o held K♠K♥ for the better hand. The turn was the 5♠and river the Q♦ , and superPolusha was out in ninth.
About a half-hour later the blinds were up to 3,200/6,400 when chip leader mr.thome opened for 12,800 from early position, teotudor03 reraised to 32,000 from a seat over, then Pier85 pushed all in for 202,938 from the button. It folded all of the way back to teotudor03 who called the shove.

The community cards came Q♣ 2♠6♣ , then 7♣ , then 8♦ , and Pier85 was the next out in eighth.
Another half-hour passed, and on the first hand after the nine-hour break Andoni “Pollopopeye” Larrabe min-raised to 14,400 from the cutoff, then Chester20o reraise-pushed for 81,896 from the big blind and Larrabe called. Chester20o had picked up a pair with 5♣ 5♥ , but Pollopopeye had a bigger one with K♥ Kâ™ . The board came 4♦ 6♦ 9♦ A♣ 9♥ and just six remained.
Just two hands after that, Greenstone25 shoved all in for 93,884 from UTG+1 and got one caller in mypokerf from the next seat.
Greenstone25 had A♥ J♥ but needed help versus mypokerf’s A♣ Q♥ . A lot of teasing potential but no actual help came for Greenstone25 from the 10♦ K♥ 7♥ flop, 9♣ turn, and 6♦ river, and Greenstone25 was gone in sixth.
Another 30 minutes of poker went by with mr.thome still leading with just over 780,000 and teotudor03 and ImDonuts23 both batting for second position with about 600,000. Then with the blinds 5,000/10,000, the other two players got involved a hand, mypokerf and Pollopopeye.
After mrpokerf min-raised from UTG and Andoni “Pollopopeye” Larrabe called from the big blind, the flop came 10â™ 2♥ J♦ . Pollopopeye bet 25,000 and mrpokerf called. The turn brought the K♦ and a bet of 64,000 from Pollopopeye. mypokerf then raised all in and Pollopopeye called with the 200,476 behind.
Pollopopeye had Kâ™ Q♣ for kings, but mypokerf had two pair with K♣ J♥ . The river was the 8♣ , and after winning the Super Tuesday three weeks ago and finishing 13th last week, Larrabe’s third deep run in four weeks ended in fifth.
teotudor03 had a large chip lead then with more than 1.34 million, with ImDonuts23 and mr.thome close to even with about half that amount and mypokerf in fourth with just over 300,000. The four soon had the tourney paused and struck a “chip chop” deal to divide the remaining prize pool — leaving $6,000 aside for the eventual winner — and play resumed.
Then came a hand in which ImDonuts23 raised 2x to 24,000 from under the gun, mr.thome reraised to 66,666 from the small blind, ImDonuts23 shoved, and mr.thome called all in with the 311,539 left.
mr.thome had K♥ Kâ™ and a big advantage over ImDonuts23’s 7♥ 7â™ . But when the board rolled out 5♣ 4♦ 6â™ 8♣ Q♦ , ImDonuts23 had made a straight and mr.thome was out in fourth.
teotudor03 continued to lead, then a huge hand developed that saw ImDonuts23 all in on a 7♦ 8♣ J♣ flop holding 7♥ 7â™ (a set of sevens) versus teotudor03’s K♣ 10♣ (flush draw and inside straight draw). The turn brought another jack to fill up ImDonuts23, and with that 2 million-plus chip pot ImDonuts23 was in front and teotudor03 down under half a million.
Not too long after that teotudor03 had slipped further to 171,358 and was pushing all in from the small blind with K♠5♦ and getting called by ImDonuts23 who held A♣ 3♣ . The 5♥ K♥ Q♠flop was great for teotudor03 who made two pair, but the 10♥ turn and J♠river made ImDonuts23 a straight, knocking teotudor03 out in third.
ImDonuts23 began heads-up play with a better than 3-to-1 chip lead with 2,235,869 to mypokerf’s 689,131. But things evened up in short order after mypokerf doubled through with Jâ™ J♥ versus ImDonut23’s A♥ J♣ . And after a few dozen hands it was mypokerf grabbing the advantage, pushing up over 2.15 million while ImDonuts23 fell back to less than 775,000.
Then with the blinds at 9,000/18,000, mypokerf limped from the button, ImDonuts23 raised to 54,000, and mypokerf called. The flop came 4♣ 4♦ 3♥ and ImDonuts23 continued for 37,125, and mypokerf called. The turn then brought the 7♥ and a check from ImDonuts23. mypokerf took the opening to bet 126,000, ImDonuts23 check-raised to 270,787, mypokerf reraised to more than 1 million, and ImDonuts23 called all in for 408,841.
ImDonuts23 had A♥ K♥ for a flush draw while mypokerf had flopped trip fours with J♠4♠. The river was the K♦ , and mypokerf had won.
Congratulations to mypokerf for taking the top spot in this week’s Super Tuesday, winning again after having taking down the tournament before back in April 2012. Just days after that win a year ago, mypokerf came back to win that week’s Sunday Million, too!
Kudos to ImDonuts23, teotudor03, and mr.thome as well for making it to the four-way deal and thus ensuring themselves handsome paydays.
